ICASA stands ready for the much-anticipated and long-awaited auctioning of the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) – also referred to as high demand - spectrum starting tomorrow, 8 March 2022.

ICASA has noted various media queries, reports as well as social media postings in relation to the discontinuation of the Russia TV (also known as RT) channel on the DSTV platform and will enquire with the licensee in this regard.

ICASA hereby announces the names of the bidders that qualify to participate in the auction phase of the ongoing licensing process for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) spectrum – also referred to as high-demand spectrum.

ICASA convenes virtual public hearings in respect of the Draft Amendment Regulations Governing Aspects of the Procedures of the Complaints and Compliance Committee (CCC) on Monday, 14 February 2022.

ICASA published the new Invitation To Pre-Register (ITP-R) on 15 December 2021 to kickstart the licensing process for community radio services. The Authority will be conducting virtual workshops and invites communities as well as interested stakeholders to participate.

ICASA will convene virtual public hearings in respect of the Discussion Document on the Review of the Pro-competitive Conditions imposed on Licensees in terms of the 2014 Call Termination Regulations on Monday, 7 February 2022.
