ICASA hereby announces the names of the bidders that qualify to participate in the auction phase of the ongoing licensing process for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) spectrum – also referred to as high-demand spectrum.

ICASA convenes virtual public hearings in respect of the Draft Amendment Regulations Governing Aspects of the Procedures of the Complaints and Compliance Committee (CCC) on Monday, 14 February 2022.

ICASA published the new Invitation To Pre-Register (ITP-R) on 15 December 2021 to kickstart the licensing process for community radio services. The Authority will be conducting virtual workshops and invites communities as well as interested stakeholders to participate.

ICASA will convene virtual public hearings in respect of the Discussion Document on the Review of the Pro-competitive Conditions imposed on Licensees in terms of the 2014 Call Termination Regulations on Monday, 7 February 2022.

ICASA has received six (6) applications in respect of the International Mobile Telecommunications spectrum licensing process today – marking an important and critical step towards the auctioning of high-demand spectrum in March 2022

ICASA confirms that it has been served with an urgent application filed in the High Court, Pretoria by Telkom SA SOC Limited (“Telkom”) on Tuesday, 4 January 2022, in which Telkom seeks to, yet again derail the much anticipated and urgently needed licensing process for the International Mobile Telecommunications spectrum earmarked for auction in March this year.
