2026-04-09The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has published Amendment to the 2011 Municipal Party Elections Broadcasts and Political Advertisements Regulations on 02 April 2026 in Government Gazette no. 54459. The Regulations will apply during the election period to broadcasting service licensees (BSLs), political parties and independent candidates who will be contesting the upcoming 2026 municipal elections.
ICASA to Host Workshop to Assist Stakeholders with Applications for Community Television and Radio Frequency Spectrum Licences

PRETORIA - The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will host a virtual workshop on 25 March 2026 to assist stakeholders with the application process for the Invitation to Pre-Register (ITP-R) for Community Television Broadcasting Service (CTBS) and Radio Frequency Spectrum (RFS) licences. The ITP-R was published on 8 January 2026 in Government Gazette No. 53934.
