Oral representations are limited to stakeholders who have submitted written comments and expressed interest to participate in the public hearings.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will hold hybrid public hearings on Wednesday, 05 June 2024. The hearings are in respect of the written submissions on the Supplementary Discussion Document on Signal Distribution Market Inquiry published in Government Gazette No. 50069 on 02 February 2024.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa hereby gives notice that it will be holding virtual public hearings in respect of the Draft National and Provincial Party Elections Broadcasts and Political Advertisements Amendment Regulations[1], in accordance with section 4(6) of the Electronic Communication Act, 2005 (Act No. 36 of 2005), as amended (ECA).

ICASA invites interested stakeholders to a virtual consultation workshop to engage on the impact of load-shedding on the electronic communications, broadcasting, and postal services sectors, and to identify potential mitigation measures that lie within the scope of the Authority.

This workshop follows the announcement made by President Cyril Ramaphosa on 9 February 2023, during the 2023 State of the Nation Address, that the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has declared a national state of disaster in response to the ongoing electricity crisis and its effects.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (“the Authority”) will hold virtual public hearings in respect of the discussion document on the optimisation of the frequency modulation sound broadcasting.

ICASA will hold public hearings from 20 to 21 January 2021 in respect of the draft Digital Sound Broadcasting Services Regulations published on 13 November 2020, following receipt of submissions from interested stakeholders.
