The Invitation To Apply (ITA) for both the Wireless Open Access Network (WOAN) and the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) spectrum, also known as high demand spectrum will be published no later than 30 September 2020.

ICASA invites communities to apply for digital community television broadcasting service pre-registrations

ICASA is seeking written submissions in relation to the service codes to be harmonised for COVID-19 national emergency services during the National State of Disaster; and further puts matters into context with respect to this process.

The Council of ICASA has resolved to grant a 14-day extension in respect of submissions into the Draft Code for Persons with Disabilities Regulations published on 12 June 2020. The new date for written submissions is now the 14th of August 2020.

ICASA would like to correct the misconception created by the National Community Radio Forum (NCRF) and assist them to understand the role of the Authority as it relates to the Universal Service and Access Fund (USAF) collections.

This follows utterances by the Forum during an interview on SABC TV, that sought to undermine the regulatory mandate of ICASA as contemplated in the legislation; and potentially damaging to the reputation of ICASA.
