ICASA to Host Workshop to Assist Stakeholders with Applications for Community Television and Radio Frequency Spectrum Licences

16 March 2026

PRETORIA - The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will host a virtual workshop on 25 March 2026 to assist stakeholders with the application process for the Invitation to Pre-Register (ITP-R) for Community Television Broadcasting Service (CTBS) and Radio Frequency Spectrum (RFS) licences. The ITP-R was published on 8 January 2026 in Government Gazette No. 53934.

The purpose of the workshop is to help prospective applicants better understand the requirements of the application process. ICASA will provide guidance on the legislative and regulatory framework governing CTBS and RFS licences, as well as practical steps to ensure that applications comply with the requirements outlined in the ITP-R.

Prospective applicants and interested stakeholders are encouraged to attend the workshop to gain clarity and practical insight into the application process.

In addition to the virtual session, ICASA plans to host provincial outreach workshops between April and May 2026. The dates and venues for these workshops will be announced in due course.
