PRETORIA - The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa will hold public hearings on 13 and 14 July 2026 on the Draft Regulations on Rapid Deployment of Electronic Communications Networks and Facilities, 2026, published in Government Gazette No 54484 dated 10 April 2026.
The Regulations are intended to provide a clear, transparent and uniform regulatory framework that will facilitate the efficient and rapid deployment of electronic communications infrastructure across South Africa, whilst ensuring procedural fairness and lawful engagement between the licensees of ICASA and affected parties such as landowners and rural communities.
Oral representations will be made by stakeholders who have submitted written comments on the Draft Regulations, and who have indicated their intention to participate in such hearings.
Members of the media and interested stakeholders are invited to attend the public hearings in person as follows:
