ICASA conducts a public hearing in respect of the transfer of ownership and the transfer of control applications lodged by Dark Fibre Africa

PRETORIA - The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (“ICASA/the Authority”) will hold a virtual public hearing in respect of the applications received from Dark Fibre Africa Proprietary Limited (“DFA”) for the transfer of the following licences as published in the Government Gazette No. 46391 on 20 May 2022:

1. The Individual Electronic Communications Service ("I-ECS") licence from DFA to Business Venture Investments No 2213 Proprietary Limited (“NEWCO”)

2. The Individual Electronic Communications Network Service ("I-ECNS") licence from DFA to Business Venture Investments No 2213 Proprietary Limited (“NEWCO”)

3. The Radio Frequency Spectrum (“RFS”) licence from DFA to Vodacom Proprietary Limited (“Vodacom”)

The public hearing will take place virtually on 12 July 2022. Interested stakeholders, media and members of the public are invited to attend.
