Public hearings on the draft Radio Frequency Migration Plan

Johannesburg – The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will hold public hearings in respect of the Draft Radio Frequency Migration Plan published for comments on 24 August 2018, the purpose of which is to manage the radio frequency spectrum efficiently to the benefit of all South Africans

ICASA has received Seventeen (17) submissions following the publication of the Draft Radio Frequency Migration Plan and will conduct public hearings from 25 to 26 October 2018 at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg. The hearings will start at 09h00.

The plan provides for, among others, the background and basis of the Radio Frequency Migration Plan, identification of the radio frequency bands where migration may be required and make proposals regarding such frequency migration as may be required; and identify the radio frequency bands which are subject to a feasibility study.
